Manuel Tevar

Pianist, composer and conductor. Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando Prize in 2006, only other well-known Spanish composer, Manuel de Falla, has won this important recognition in the History of Spanish music. As a composer, Tévar was awarded with the Guerrero Foundation Award in 2008 and Amics del Liceu Foundation Award 2009, among others, and he won First Prize at the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition in New York as a pianist. Well-known for his international career, Manuel Tévar is one of the most complete and internationally recognized Spanish musicians of his generation. His agenda as conductor, pianist and composer has taken him to theaters all over the world, premiering over 50 works in 10 different countries as composer and performer. He has conducted, among others, I Musici della Scala di Milano, Orquesta Filarmonica Marchigiana, CRR Istambul Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Polifónica Siciliana, Orchestra de Chambre du Luxembourg, Orchestra Sinfonica di San Remo and the United Nations Youth Ensemble, and he has performed as a soloist with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Córdoba, lOrquesta RTVE Española, Orquesta Sinfónica de Valencia, Orquesta Sinfónica of Indiana Wesleyan University and Silesian Chamber Players. Tévar is the artistic director of the Atlantida Chamber Orchestra, as well as several international music festivals in Spain. He has performed in prestigious venues and festivals like Carnegie Hall in New York, Rudolfinum in Prague, Palacio de Foz in Lisbon, Wiener Koncerthaus, Palais des Academies in Brussels, Lake Como Festival, Skopje Internacionational Music Festival, Festival of Rediscovered and Forgotten music in Poloand, among many others all over the world. In Spain, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Teatro Real, Auditorio Miguel Delibes, Teatro Monumental, Fundación Juan March, Palau de la música de Barcelona, Palau de la música de Valencia, Fundación Botín, MNCARS, Festival de Segovia, Festival de Musica Española de Cádiz or Festival ENSEMS can be highlighted. Tévar has also recorded for the National Spanish Television and Radio (RTVE), Radio France and Österreichischer Rundfunk in Viena. After several tours around Europe, USA and Latin America in the last months, he has upcoming proyects that will take him to the Berlin Philarmonie or Sala Verdi in Milan, as well as his Asian debut with the State Symphony Orchestra of Kazakhstan. Manuel Tévar has cultivated the success of his artistic work for years, achieveing in each concert an unmatched conection with the public’s most intimate sensitivity. He positions himself as an integral musician who combines all his sides in one, like the complete musician of another era.
