Mitsuko Kawabata
After graduating from the Department of Humanities, Faculty of Letters, Osaka University, majoring in musicology, she completed the master's and doctoral programs. In 2006, she received a Rotary Foundation International Ambassadorial Scholarship to study abroad at the University of Kansas, where she studied musicology for a short period of time. Then obtained a master's degree from the University of Miami and a doctorate from Indiana University (folklore and ethnomusicology). She is currently an associate professor at Kyoto City University of Arts.
